Lighting for Documentary

Documentary Lighting Dublin, IE mid Budget: $250/day flat

Hey everyone, Liam here (focus puller mostly). I'm helping a good friend (a director I've worked with a few times) put together a crew for an upcoming documentary. It's a pretty compelling story about street art and community revitalization in Dublin, with a raw, observational style we're aiming for. Think less talking heads, more dynamic, immersive visuals capturing the energy of the artists and their impact. We're looking for a Gaffer who can bring some great ideas and isn't afraid to get creative with available light, but also knows how to make the most of a small lighting package. You'll be responsible for designing and executing the lighting plans, managing the lighting equipment (we have a basic kit, but owning a small versatile package is a big plus), and working closely with the Cinematographer to achieve the desired look. We need someone with solid mid-level experience in documentary or independent film, proven problem-solving skills on set, and a reel that shows off your aesthetic. Shoot dates are approximate, targeting 3-4 weeks in late September/early October, typically 10-12 hour days. Lunch and travel within Dublin will be covered. Looking forward to seeing your work!
