Location Assistant (Short Film, Mexico City)

Hey filmmakers, I'm a location scout working on an exciting comedic short film shooting in Mexico City and I'm looking for a reliable Location Assistant to join our team. This is a quirky, slice-of-life comedy with a touch of magic realism, think something like 'Amelie' meets 'Y Tu Mamá También'. We're aiming for a vibrant, authentic feel that really captures the soul of CDMX. As our Location Assistant, you'll be crucial in helping me manage on-set logistics and ensure everything runs smoothly. Your main responsibilities will include assisting with site prep, managing crew access, facilitating communication with property owners or contacts, and helping maintain general order on location. You'll work closely with me and the production coordinator. This is an entry to mid-level role, open to any experience level, so it’s a great opportunity to get hands-on experience on an independent production. No specific gear is required, but a strong work ethic, a proactive attitude, and good problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with Mexico City is a huge plus. We don't require an extensive reel, but tell us about any relevant experiences you have. Shoot dates are approximately 5-7 days in late July/early August, with flexible (but full) days. We're paying $150-300 per day, depending on experience. Lunch and transportation to and from set locations will be provided. Let's make some movie magic!
