Locations for Documentary
Calling all aspiring location scouts and assistants for an upcoming independent documentary project here in NYC! We're exploring the fascinating and often unseen world of underground artisans, think unique workshops and hidden studios. It's a character-driven piece, observational in tone, and we're looking for someone with a good eye for visually interesting, authentic spaces that tell a story. You'll be helping us research, identify, and secure access to potential filming locations throughout the five boroughs. This means scouting, taking photos, gathering contact info, and assisting with initial location agreements. We're looking for someone entry-level with a positive attitude and strong communication skills. No specific gear required from you, just a reliable way to get around and a good smartphone for photos. While a reel isn't necessary for this role, any prior experience, even unpaid, or a portfolio of photography showing your eye for locations is a plus. Shoot dates are still TBD but will likely be over 4-6 weeks, with flexible hours depending on scouting needs. We're offering $100-200 per day, compensation depending on experience. Come join a dedicated small crew and get some excellent hands-on experience!
