Senior Location Scout, Music Video (PDX)

A psychedelic rock band's visually trippy music video needs a seasoned eye for unique, off-kilter backdrops to match their vibrant sound. We're seeking a Senior Location Scout for an independent production, based in Portland, OR. This is a crucial role for our upcoming project. You'll be responsible for identifying, photographing, and coordinating access to a variety of compelling locations (both indoor and outdoor) that align with our artistic vision and production design needs. This includes scouting for specific aesthetics, assessing practical considerations like power and accessibility, and negotiating location agreements. We're looking for someone with extensive experience in location scouting for music videos or similar narrative projects, specifically in the Portland area. Your portfolio should clearly demonstrate your ability to find and secure distinctive spaces. Familiarity with local permits and property owners is a big plus. You'll need to have your own transportation, camera, and scouting kit. The main scouting period will be throughout the second half of October 2026, with the shoot scheduled for early November 2026 (expected 2-3 shoot days). This is a deferred pay position, common for independent music video productions, with compensation distributed upon project completion and distribution. We will provide a small stipend for gas and location fees as needed.
