Sound Design for Short Film

Hey everyone, I'm helping a director friend out with a crew search for his upcoming short film. It's a dark comedy, kind of surrealist, about a guy who wakes up to find his apartment has subtly shifted overnight. Think a mix of "Being John Malkovich" and a touch of "A Ghost Story." We really want the sound design to play a huge role in building that unsettling atmosphere and comedic timing, so we're looking for someone creative who can think outside the box. You'll be responsible for all aspects of sound design, including ambiences, sound effects, foley, and working with the director to shape the overall sonic landscape of the film. We're looking for someone with a good ear and a strong understanding of how sound can drive narrative. Please have your own sound design software and ideally a library of sounds ready to go. A reel or examples of your previous work are a must so we can get a feel for your style. This is a paid position, $200-400 per day depending on experience. We're looking at a 3-5 day post-production period for sound, likely sometime in late July or early August, but we're flexible. Post-production will be primarily remote, but we'd love to have you in for a few in-person sessions in Los Angeles, CA.
