Sound Designer, Documentary Feature (Mid-Level)

Documentary Sound Design Nashville, TN mid Budget: Equity partnership

Seeking a talented Nashville-based Sound Designer for a partnership opportunity on an upcoming documentary feature. We're offering equity partnership for the right individual. This film delves into the vibrant, often hidden, world of Nashville's session musicians, exploring their craft, struggles, and untold stories. It's an intimate, character-driven piece, and the soundscape will be critical in building atmosphere and emotional resonance, moving between studio recordings, live performances, and vérité scenes. You'll be responsible for all aspects of sound design, from cleaning dialogue and creating ambient layers to crafting impactful sound effects and a nuanced final mix. We need someone with a strong sense of storytelling through audio, a good ear for detail, and a mid-level experience on documentary projects. You should own your own professional-grade sound design and mixing software and ideally have a treated space for mixing. Please have a compelling reel showcasing your previous work. Post-production is slated to begin in late September and continue through November, though specific hours will be flexible. We're a small, dedicated independent production team seeking a collaborator excited by the project's potential. Dialogue tracks and music assets will be provided.
