Web Series Director (Comedy-Drama)

Hey filmmakers! I'm putting together an independent web series, 6-8 episodes, leaning into a quirky comedy-drama vibe with heart. Think character-driven storytelling you'd find on a streaming service, but for the web. We’re aiming for something visually distinctive and emotionally engaging, with a strong focus on performances. We're looking for a Director to bring their vision to life. You'll be responsible for creative leadership on set, collaborating closely with the DP and actors, and ensuring the story's tone is consistent. This isn't a post-heavy role, we need a strong hand during production. Experience level isn't as critical as passion and a solid portfolio (please share your reel or previous work). We're open to emerging talent. While we don't expect you to bring a ton of gear, familiarity with independent production workflows and a creative problem-solving attitude are key. Shoot dates are loosely planned for summer 2024, likely 2-3 days per episode in and around Chicago, with flexible hours. We'll handle location scouting, casting, and most pre-production logistics.
