Sound Design for Short Film

Hey all, I'm Marcus Tillman (your friendly neighborhood foley artist) and I'm helping an indie team find a Sound Designer for an upcoming short. It's a surreal, atmospheric piece focusing on a character’s descent into paranoia, with a strong visual style and minimal dialogue. We really need sound to tell the story and create a very specific mood. You'll be responsible for all creative sound design aspects, working closely with the director to sculpt the sonic landscape. This includes designing unique sound effects, crafting ambient textures, and potentially some basic cleaning up of production audio. We're looking for someone entry level with a good ear and a passion for creating immersive sound. You should have access to your own DAW and sound libraries. A short reel or some project examples showcasing your sound design work would be great. Shoot dates are TBD but looking at early summer, likely 2-3 days on set in Chicago for recording sound, then offsite post-production. It's a deferred pay gig, but a fantastic opportunity to get a unique credit and work with a dedicated crew on a project that truly values sound. Let's make some noise!
