Lighting for Short Film
A coming-of-age story set in a decrepit mansion, our upcoming short film delves into the chilling transformation of a young woman confronting a family curse. We're seeking a skilled Gaffer to join our independent production team in New York City. You'll be responsible for executing the lighting design, setting up and operating lights, and ensuring the visual tone of the film, which leans into atmospheric shadows and dramatic contrasts. This is a crucial role for creating the specific gothic mood we're aiming for. We're looking for someone with entry-level experience, enthusiasm, and a strong understanding of lighting principles. You should have some of your own basic grip and electric gear, though we'll have a package as well. Please have a reel or a portfolio of your work available for review. Shoot dates are approximate and will be 3-4 days in late September or early October, with 10-12 hour days. Lunch and transportation to set will be provided. Compensation is $250 per day flat rate.
