Color Grading for Short Film

Seeking a Senior Colorist to define the visual mood for our neo-noir short film, a character-driven thriller set in the underbelly of Los Angeles. This independent production explores themes of betrayal and redemption through a stylized, atmospheric lens. We're looking for someone who can craft a distinctive, gritty, yet beautiful aesthetic that elevates our storytelling. Key responsibilities include collaborating closely with the director and cinematographer to develop the film's performing primary and secondary color correction, and ensuring consistency across all scenes. We anticipate about 3 weeks of work for post-production, starting in late September 2026. You should have extensive experience with DaVinci Resolve or similar professional grading software, possess your own color-calibrated monitoring setup, and have a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to shape narrative through color. This is a deferred compensation role (points + deferred pay structure), ideal for a passionate colorist looking to contribute to an ambitious project that will hit the festival circuit.
