Doc Editor, Austin (Volunteer)

Hey Austin film community! I'm a screenwriter working on an independent documentary project and am looking for a talented editor to join our crew. This is a volunteer position, but we'll be providing meals and a copy of the finished film for your reel. The documentary is a compelling exploration of local urban legends, aiming for a slightly eerie but ultimately heartwarming tone. We've got some fantastic archival footage mixed with current-day interviews, offering a lot of creative potential in the edit. We're looking for someone with entry-level editing experience who's comfortable with documentary workflows. You'll be responsible for assembling raw footage, creating a narrative flow, incorporating music and sound effects, and delivering a polished final cut. Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro is a must, and we'd love to see a reel or examples of your previous work (even student films!). Shoot dates are mostly wrapped, so we're looking to start editing within the next few weeks. We're flexible on hours but ideally, you'd be able to dedicate 10-15 hours a week for a few months. We'll provide all the raw footage and any necessary project files. Looking forward to hearing from you!
