Editing for Music Video

Hey Vancouver editors, I'm a gaffer putting out a call for an editor for an upcoming independent music video. It's for an indie rock band, think high-energy, visually driven, with a slightly gritty, cinematic feel. We're aiming for something memorable that really stands out. We've got some cool performance footage and a narrative thread woven in, so it's not just standard concert clips. Your main responsibilities will be assembling the initial cut, incorporating feedback, color correction, and ensuring a polished final product with strong pacing. We're open to all experience levels, from emerging talent to seasoned pros, as long as you have a passion for music and a good eye for storytelling. You'll need your own editing software and workstation. A strong reel or portfolio showcasing your previous editing work, especially music videos or short-form narratives, is essential. Shoot dates are mostly wrapped, with a few pick-ups planned for early next month. We're looking for someone who can commit to a flexible schedule, with an estimated 40-60 hours of work over the next 3-4 weeks. This is a partnership opportunity, offering an equity stake in the project. We believe in sharing success and are looking for someone who wants to be truly invested in this project alongside us.
