Editing for Pilot

Pilot Editing Los Angeles, CA entry Budget: TBD

Hey everyone, I'm helping a friend find an editor for an upcoming independent pilot. It's a dark comedy, think 'Atlanta' meets 'Barry' in terms of tone, following a small-time entrepreneur trying to make it big in a ridiculous industry. It's got some really sharp writing and genuinely funny moments, but also delves into some surprisingly poignant territory. We're looking for someone to help shape the story in post. Key responsibilities include assembling cuts, managing media, incorporating temp sound and music, and collaborating closely with the director to bring their vision to life. This is a great opportunity for an entry-level editor to get significant experience on a narrative project. Ideally, you'll have your own editing setup (Premiere Pro preferred) and a basic understanding of post-production workflows. While we’re mostly looking for fresh talent, please include a link to your reel or any relevant work when you apply, even if it's student films or short-form content. The pilot was shot over 5 days recently, so all footage is ready to go. We anticipate editing will take about 3-4 weeks, likely part-time hours to start, with potential for full-time as we get deeper into the cut. We’ll be working out of a small office space in Los Angeles, but some remote work could be possible. Compensation is TBD, depending on experience. Reach out if you're interested!
