Editor, Documentary Short
Hey filmmakers, I'm looking for a passionate entry-level editor for an upcoming independent documentary short. This project explores the vibrant, unsung history of Atlanta's underground music scene in the 90s, focusing on the stories behind seminal independent labels. We've got compelling interviews and a treasure trove of archival footage, and we need someone to help weave it all into a cohesive, engaging narrative. Your primary responsibility will be assembling raw footage, syncing audio, adding music, and assisting with color correction and sound design. This is a chance to put your creative stamp on a story that really matters. We're seeking someone with a strong understanding of editing software, preferably Adobe Premiere Pro. While direct professional experience isn't strictly necessary, a solid portfolio of student films or personal projects demonstrating your editing skills is a must. If you have your own editing station, that's a plus, but we can make arrangements if needed. This is a volunteer, passion project, so we're looking for someone who believes in the story and is eager to contribute their talent. We anticipate the bulk of the editing will take place over 4-6 weeks, with flexible hours that can be worked around your schedule. While we can't offer monetary compensation, you'll gain valuable experience, a strong credit for your reel, and be part of a dedicated team. Let's make something great together!
