Gaffer (Commercial, Rev Share) NYC

Seeking a Gaffer for an independent commercial project shooting for approximately 1-2 days during the last week of October 2026. This is a revenue share opportunity, offering a partnership stake in the project's success. We're producing a short, visually engaging commercial spot for an innovative tech startup, aiming for a clean, modern, and slightly aspirational tone. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the visual aesthetic and creating a high-end look on an independent budget. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the Director of Photography to execute lighting plans, managing the lighting crew (if applicable), and ensuring all equipment is safely and efficiently set up. We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of commercial lighting techniques, comfortable with both natural and artificial light sources. All experience levels are encouraged to apply, from seasoned pros to talented emerging Gaffers looking for a significant credit. Please have access to a basic lighting package (e.g., a small HMI, some LEDs, stands, stingers) or the ability to source one. A reel or portfolio demonstrating your work is highly encouraged. Shoot days will be long, about 10-12 hours per day, and catering will be provided on set.
