Lighting for Pilot

An independent production team is seeking a seasoned Gaffer to join our upcoming pilot project in Bristol. This dark comedy pilot, with surreal elements, explores themes of modern alienation through the lens of a struggling artist navigating a bizarre bureaucracy. We're aiming for a distinctive visual style that blends gritty realism with moments of dreamlike absurdity, offering a fantastic opportunity for creative lighting. As Gaffer, you'll be instrumental in translating our DP's vision into practical lighting setups, managing equipment, and overseeing the lighting crew. We're looking for someone with significant experience on narrative sets, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques (natural, artificial, practicals), and the ability to work resourcefully. Please have a reel or portfolio showcasing your best work. This is a passion project, so compensation is volunteer-based, but we offer a great chance to build your portfolio with a unique and ambitious project. Shoot dates are TBD but will likely be 2-3 full days in late September or early October 2026. Meals, travel within Bristol, and on-set refreshments will be provided.
