Lighting for Pilot

An exciting new sci-fi pilot, blending dark humor with intricate world-building, is looking for a skilled Gaffer to join our team for principal photography. This independent production offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a story that challenges genre conventions with its blend of gritty realism and fantastical elements. We're aiming for a distinctive visual style that emphasizes atmospheric lighting and practical effects. This is a chance to make a real impact on the look and feel of an ambitious upcoming project. As our Gaffer, you'll be responsible for overseeing all lighting aspects on set, executing the DP's vision, managing the lighting crew, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of all electrical equipment. Key responsibilities include power distribution, rigging, and creative lighting setups. We're seeking someone with 3-5 years of experience in similar roles, particularly on narrative projects. Experience with LED fixtures, HMI, and tungsten lighting is essential. You should be familiar with industry-standard safety protocols and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. While we'll provide a core lighting package, having your own specialized tools or meters is a plus. Shoot dates are approximately 15-18 days, spread across the second half of October 2026, primarily within the Atlanta area. We anticipate 10-12 hour days.
