Gaffer for Dark Comedy Short Film

Seeking a Gaffer to lead our lighting team for an independent short film shooting in Los Angeles. This dark comedy, with a psychological thriller undertone, explores the absurdity of grief through a woman's increasingly bizarre interactions with a sentient houseplant. We're looking for someone creative who can help us achieve a specific, heightened reality blending naturalism with stylized, moody lighting to enhance the comedic and unsettling elements. You'll be responsible for the overall lighting design, collaborating closely with the Director and DP, managing lighting equipment, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone with experience with various lighting setups, DMX control, and practicals. Please be prepared to provide your own basic toolkit, but all major lighting equipment and grip gear will be provided by the production. We estimate a 3-day shoot, likely on a weekend schedule in late October or early November 2026. Days will be 10-12 hours.
