Locations for Documentary

Seeking a volunteer Location Scout for our upcoming independent documentary, shooting late August or early September 2026. Compensation for your time includes meals on shoot days and a copy of the final film. We're producing a compelling character-driven documentary exploring London's underground music scene, focusing on the intimate stories behind the artists. It’s an observational piece, raw and authentic, so we need locations that reflect that gritty, real-world vibe. Your main responsibilities will involve identifying and researching potential filming locations across London, obtaining initial permissions or contacts, and providing accurate photos and detailed information (access, lighting considerations, noise levels, etc.). We're looking for someone with a mid-level experience, ideally with some previous location scouting for documentaries or independent shorts. You’ll need a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and familiarity with navigating London. Access to a camera or good phone camera for scout photos is essential. Expect flexible hours during the scouting phase, mostly during regular business hours, followed by potential on-set support during principal photography. We’re a small, passionate crew and looking for someone excited to contribute to a meaningful project.
