Locations Manager, Short Film - Chicago
Seeking a talented and resourceful Locations Manager for an upcoming independent short film, a quirky psychological drama with a dark comedic edge. This project explores themes of urban alienation and unexpected connections, and we're looking for locations that can evoke a sense of quiet tension and understated charm. You'll be responsible for scouting, securing, and managing all shooting locations within Chicago. This includes obtaining necessary permits, negotiating access, and coordinating logistics with property owners and the production team. We're looking for someone with at least 3-5 years of experience in locations management, ideally on independent film sets. A strong portfolio showcasing your work on previous narrative projects is essential. You should have a solid understanding of Chicago's permitting process and a knack for finding unique, character-rich spaces on a budget. Access to a reliable vehicle is required, and a good working knowledge of location agreements is a plus. We anticipate approximately 6-8 shoot days in late August or early September, likely 10-12 hour days. We'll provide all necessary paperwork, insurance, and administrative support. Daily rate is $300-500, commensurate with experience.
