Senior Editor, Feature Documentary

Seeking a talented Senior Editor to join our independent production team in Atlanta, GA. We need someone who can immediately dive into a compelling social issue documentary, crafting a narrative that’s both informative and emotionally resonant. This project explores the challenges faced by local communities, offering an intimate look at their resilience and hopes. We’re aiming for a powerful, character-driven story that sparks conversation, and your role will be central to shaping that vision. Your primary responsibilities will include assembling raw footage, structuring the narrative arc, selecting compelling interview bites, and refining the overall pacing and tone. You'll be working closely with the director to realize the film's vision. We're looking for someone with extensive experience editing feature-length documentaries, a strong storytelling sensibility, and a portfolio showcasing your ability to create impactful, engaging films. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro is a must. A reel demonstrating your documentary editing prowess is essential. This is a senior-level position, requiring significant experience and the ability to work autonomously. Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with experience. We anticipate about 10-12 weeks of work, starting around late September 2026. This will be an in-person role at our editing suite in Atlanta. While we’re providing all necessary equipment for the edit suite, having your own reliable transport is recommended.
