Sound Designer, Indie Short Film

Hey fellow filmmakers, Tyra here. I'm helping out with an exciting independent production, a dramatic short film with a touch of surrealism that explores themes of memory and loss. We're looking for a talented Sound Designer to join our team. This film relies heavily on atmospheric soundscapes and nuanced audio storytelling to immerse the audience, so your creative input will be huge. You'll be responsible for all post-production sound elements, including dialogue editing, sound effects design, foley, and mixing. We're looking for someone who can craft a unique sonic identity for the film and work closely with the director to achieve their vision. You should have your own editing software and be comfortable working independently, but we'll also have feedback sessions. While prior short film experience is a plus, we're open to all experience levels, so if you're passionate about sound and have a reel (even a small one) showcasing your abilities, please reach out. Our shooting dates are likely the first two weekends of June in the Atlanta area, but sound design work will obviously be post-shoot. This is a volunteer position, but we'll provide meals on set and a copy of the finished film for your reel. We're a friendly, collaborative crew, and this is a great opportunity to get some creative work under your belt.
