Best Boy/Girl Electric for Short Film
An independent production is seeking a talented Best Boy/Girl Electric to join our lighting crew for an upcoming short film in Toronto. This project is a visually driven psychological thriller, exploring themes of isolation and perception. We're aiming for a moody, high-contrast aesthetic that will be crucial to conveying the film's suspenseful tone. This is a great opportunity to contribute creatively to a compelling story and work alongside a dedicated team. Key responsibilities include assisting the Gaffer with lighting setup, cable management, power distribution, and ensuring all electrical equipment is operating safely and efficiently. You'll be instrumental in translating the Gaffer's vision into practical execution on set. While specific gear isn't required, a strong understanding of various lighting fixtures, grip equipment, and power distribution systems is essential. We welcome candidates at any experience level, from enthusiastic newcomers to seasoned professionals; your problem-solving skills and positive attitude are what matter most. Please include a link to your reel or relevant work samples if available. We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot, likely on a weekend, in early September 2026. Standard 10-12 hour days are expected. Craft services and meals will be provided on set.
