Gaffer (Senior) - Sci-Fi Pilot, Atlanta

Our independent production is assembling a skilled crew for an exciting sci-fi pilot, and we're looking for a senior Gaffer to lead our lighting department. This project blends gritty realism with speculative fiction, exploring themes of resilience in a near-future Atlanta. We need someone who can translate a bold visual style into impactful lighting design, collaborating closely with the DP to achieve a cinematic look on a tight schedule. We're looking for a creative problem-solver ready to bring their experience and vision to a compelling story. This is a pilot we believe has significant series potential. Key responsibilities include designing and executing lighting setups, managing the lighting crew, ensuring safety protocols, and overseeing all lighting equipment. You'll be instrumental in shaping the visual tone. We're seeking a Gaffer with at least 5 years of professional experience on narrative projects, a strong portfolio or reel demonstrating diverse lighting skills, and a solid understanding of power distribution and grip equipment. You should ideally have access to a basic lighting package suitable for independent film, although we will be providing additional specialized gear as needed. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for about 3 weeks in the first half of October 2026, working 10-12 hour days. This is a partnership opportunity, offering revenue share participation in the pilot's success.
