Lighting for Web Series
Seeking a dedicated Gaffer to light our upcoming web series, starting with a 10-hour shoot day for our pilot episode. This independent production is a dark comedy, blending quirky humor with genuinely tense moments, exploring the absurdities of modern life through a unique, visually driven narrative. We're aiming for a distinctive aesthetic that really highlights the tonal shifts. Your primary responsibility will be to execute the lighting plan under the Director of Photography's guidance, ensuring consistent and evocative illumination for each scene. You'll be working with a small, collaborative crew, so adaptability and a proactive attitude are key. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their reel and gain practical experience on a professional set. Applicants should have basic lighting knowledge and a strong understanding of safety protocols. You'll ideally have access to a basic lighting kit (stands, flags, small LEDs/Fresnels) that you're comfortable bringing, though we will also have some core production-provided equipment. Please provide a brief reel or examples of previous work, even if it's student or short-film projects, to showcase your eye for light. We're looking at about 1-2 shoot days in September 2026, with an estimated 10-12 hour work day. Meals and craft services will be provided on set. If this sounds like you, please send over your reel and a short message. We're hoping to make a decision by October 15, 2026.
