Gaffer for Chicago Commercial Spot

We are seeking a seasoned Gaffer for an upcoming commercial spot in Chicago, a dynamic and visually engaging project promoting a local, sustainable coffee brand. This independent production aims for a polished, aspirational aesthetic, blending natural light with controlled, studio-quality setups to highlight the product and brand story. As our Gaffer, you will be responsible for leading the lighting team, collaborating closely with the DP to execute the visual vision, and overseeing all electrical and grip equipment. Key responsibilities include managing lighting setups, ensuring safety protocols, and problem-solving on set. We're looking for someone with significant commercial or narrative experience, a strong understanding of various lighting techniques, and the ability to work efficiently within a small, dedicated crew. Applicants should have their own basic lighting kit and grip package suitable for a commercial shoot, though specialized equipment will be rented. Please share your reel or a portfolio showcasing relevant lighting work. The shoot is scheduled for 1-2 days, tentatively in October 2026, with some prep work beforehand.
