Lighting for Pilot
Looking for a talented Gaffer to light a compelling independent pilot, shooting in Vancouver, BC for an estimated 1-2 days in late August or early September 2026. This sci-fi thriller blends psychological tension with a subtle, gritty aesthetic, exploring themes of surveillance and paranoia. We’re aiming for a moody, high-contrast look with practical and motivated sources, requiring a skilled eye for shaping light and working quickly. Your main responsibilities will include collaborating with the DP to execute the lighting plan, leading a small lighting team (likely a best boy/swing), and ensuring all lighting is safe and efficient. We need someone with solid experience on narrative sets, comfortable with a range of lighting fixtures, and who can problem-solve on the fly. Please have your own basic kit (stands, stingers, small LED units, hand tools) and access to a reliable vehicle for gear transport. A strong reel showcasing your narrative work is essential. This is a mid-level position offering $100-200 per day for about 10-12 hour days. Lunch and craft services will be provided. We're a passionate crew on a lean budget, and we're excited to collaborate with someone who shares our vision. Please send your reel and availability soon; we're hoping to make a decision by September 23, 2026.
