Lighting for Music Video

We're looking for an enthusiastic entry-level Gaffer to light a vibrant, high-energy music video for an independent artist. This project is a visually driven pop track, aiming for a dynamic and colorful aesthetic that matches the artist's bold style. We need someone who can help bring creative lighting concepts to life and work effectively with a small crew. Your key responsibilities will include assisting the DP in executing the lighting plan, setting up and striking lights and grip equipment, power distribution, and ensuring safety on set. We're looking for someone who is eager to learn, takes initiative, and has a good understanding of basic lighting principles and equipment. While we have some gear, you should ideally have access to a basic lighting package or connections to rent one affordably, though we can discuss options for essential items. Please provide a reel or examples of any relevant work, even if it's student or personal projects. This is a 1-2 day shoot, currently planned for around September 8, 2026, with an additional half-day for prep. Hours will be standard music video days. We're offering deferred compensation (points + deferred pay) for this passion project, with meals and local travel covered.
