Directing for Music Video

Seeking an entry-level Director for an independent music video project filming in London. This is a volunteer position, offering meals and a copy of the final production for your reel. We are looking for someone with a fresh vision to bring our alt-pop track, with its ethereal and slightly surreal tone, to life. The song explores themes of escape and transformation, and we're excited to collaborate with a director who can craft visually compelling and narrative-driven imagery without relying heavily on special effects. Key responsibilities include developing a detailed treatment, guiding the artistic direction on set, and working closely with the Line Producer and Director of Photography to execute the vision. We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot taking place in the second half of September 2026. Applicants should have some previous directing experience, ideally with music videos or short-form narrative content, and a strong visual reel. Please note that directors will not be required to provide camera equipment, but a strong understanding of visual storytelling and practical effects is essential. We will provide catering during the shoot days and reimburse reasonable travel expenses within London. This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging director to gain experience and build their portfolio on a creative and supportive set.
