Director for Sci-Fi Web Series (Chicago)

Our upcoming sci-fi web series, exploring themes of memory and virtual reality in a near-future Chicago, is seeking an experienced Director. This independent production offers a unique opportunity to shape a compelling narrative across several short episodes. We're looking for a creative visionary to bring our scripts to life with a distinctive visual style and strong character performances. Key responsibilities include collaborating with the showrunner, leading the crew on set, guiding actors, and overseeing the artistic and technical aspects of production to achieve our creative vision. You'll be instrumental in translating our story from script to screen. We need someone with mid-level directing experience, preferably on narrative shorts, web series, or independent features. A strong portfolio or reel demonstrating your ability to direct actors and tell a visual story is essential. While we have basic camera and lighting packages, if you have access to additional preferred gear, please mention it. Shoot dates are tentatively scheduled for the first half of October 2026, requiring approximately 2-3 weeks of full-time commitment. Compensation is $2000-3000 per week, depending on experience.
