Gaffer, Feature Film (Deferred Pay)

Feature Film Lighting Los Angeles, CA mid Budget: Deferred pay

Seeking a talented Gaffer to lead our lighting team for an upcoming independent feature film. This project is a character-driven drama with elements of psychological thriller, focusing on atmospheric storytelling and intimate, naturalistic visuals. We're looking for someone who can elevate the visual mood with a keen eye for subtle lighting. You'll be responsible for executing the Director of Photography's vision, managing lighting equipment, and overseeing the best boy and grips. This is a mid-level position, so we expect you to have several narrative features or significant short film experience under your belt. Please have your own basic lighting kit (LED panels, some tungsten units, stands, stingers) that you're comfortable bringing, though we will be renting a more extensive package as needed. Experience working with small crews and adaptable problem-solving is crucial. We're aiming for principal photography to begin late August 2026 for approximately 3 weeks of shooting in and around Los Angeles. Exact shoot days will vary, but anticipate 10-12 hour days. Deferred pay for this opportunity. Please send your reel and a brief list of relevant projects. This is a chance to make a real visual impact on a compelling story.
