Lighting for Pilot
Our independent production is seeking a talented and experienced Gaffer for an upcoming pilot. This project is a character-driven drama, with a dark comedic edge, exploring themes of resilience and community in a unique Nashville setting. We're aiming for a grounded, cinematic look that supports the nuanced performances and atmospheric storytelling. As our Gaffer, you will be responsible for executing the lighting plan, leading the electric team, and ensuring all lighting equipment is used safely and effectively. This includes working closely with the Director of Photography to achieve their creative vision, managing power distribution, and overseeing the setup and breakdown of all lighting gear. You should be proactive, a strong problem-solver, and able to adapt quickly to on-set challenges. We require candidates with at least 3-5 years of professional gaffing experience on narrative projects. Please have a solid understanding of various lighting techniques, power requirements, and safety protocols. Access to a personal lighting package, even a basic one, is a plus, but not strictly required as we will be renting a substantial package. A strong reel or portfolio demonstrating your work is essential. Shoot dates are approximately late August 2026, for about 3-4 weeks. We anticipate 10-12 hour days. Production will provide craft services, meals, and any necessary specialty equipment.
